Making KirbyPod
After Bringing together the KirbyPod team, we all sat down and drew up a game plan of what we needed to accomplish before we could see our ride clean revolution become a reality. Cole Harding, being a successful entrepreneur with several patents already in his name, knew exactly what needed to be done in order to protect our intellectual property. Very quickly we began drawing up renderings of the KirbyPod that would be a basic starting point in our patent application. Once we were able to create a suitable look for our KirbyPod we reach out to our patent attorney Bent Johnson; of Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP. After several phone calls and meetings with them explaining all the different aspect of our invention, they were able to create a powerful patent application that was officially filed on February 20, 2020.
While our patent application was in the works, we knew there was still a lot of work ahead of us. While calling and getting in touch with the different players in the Micromoblity industry we began realizing that there is an interest in this sort of product, however they need to be able to see what we are talking about. Having a patent filed and renderings is one thing but having a working prototype to show is a completely different achievement, which after speaking with different companies we knew we had to reach. One of our biggest advocates and resources came from Drew McCluskey’s contact with Saints Running back Alvin Kamara. Drew was able to bring this idea to Kamara one afternoon and as it turns out he loved the idea and was willing and wanting to help in anyway possible. He had brought up his relationship with one of, if not the largest player in the Micromobility industry and told us he would be happy to get us in touch with them once we had reached certain goals. Once we were comfortable with our research, renderings, and patent process we were able to sit down with Alvin Kamara to pick his mind and see just who he might be able to connect us with.
Tune in in two weeks to hear how the meeting with Saints running back Alvin Kamara went.
